Five Minute Friday - Remember

I'm baaaacckkk!  It's time for Five Minute Fridays to resume, and I'm excited but also a little nervous to get back into it.  I've been editing so much during 31 Days that I'm not sure I know how to simply write anymore.  We'll see.  Here's the deal, courtesy of Gypsy Mama:

    1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
    2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
    3. Most importantly: leave a comment for the person who linked up before you – encouraging them in their writing!
OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on:

Remember…

GO:

Remember when I first held you in my arms and thanked God for the miracle of you?

Remember how every night at prayer time I thank God that I get to be your mommy?

Remember when I walked you into school and you didn't want me to leave you but then your Sensei took you and everything was ok?

Remember how we visited Cambodia?

Remember the day your sister was born?

Remembering is not the same as not forgetting.  Not forgetting is just one step up from forgetting.  Remembering is an action.  A positive action.  Life relived.  In pictures, stories, and emotions.

Remembering helps us to not forget.

I remember the day I met you.  I remember the moment I knew you were THE ONE.  I remember the day we pledged our lives to each other, and I remember how we've lived each day since then together.

To my children:  I will help you remember.  My gift to you, as you grow, is to remember for you, and to give you the memories.

To my husband:  Not only will I not forget, I will always remember.  [I love you]

STOP

Many of us in the blogging world write so we can remember.  What are you remembering today?  Write it down and share it at

  2. Your post brought back memories for me, as well. I love being a mama and having special memories to hold on to so tightly!

  3. "Remembering is an action. A positive action. Life relived. In pictures, stories, and emotions." and maybe even, sharing, discussing, and clarifying misunderstood memories. Lately that's what I've been trying to do to help heal some hurting memories.
